CRC Will Provide
To the sites we provide an AmeriCorps member who will receive the following from the Community Resource Corps:

The Cost
Members receive a compensation package of approximately $17,800 for a 1700 hour/11 month commitment to service as an AmeriCorps member. Members who successfully complete their service receive a $11,400 living allowance, health coverage, and a $4,725 education award to use for previous student loan or continuing education. The members are also provided with significant professional and personal development training. Host sites agree to pay $9,200, which is approximately half the cost of the stipend and training for the member. Members based out of the priority area counties will receive a $700 discount to ensure equitable distribution of Members.

Host Site Application Process
The Host Site application consists of an information page and a proposal. The proposal addresses basic information about your organization and plans for the AmeriCorps Member. It also requests information on the supervisory plan for the member. When completing the application please answer the questions as thoroughly as possible.

Community Resource Corps Performance Measures
The following have been selected as the outcomes for the CRC. The host site’s project should closely fit in with our performance measure goals.

Community Strengthening
Goal:
75% of host sites agencies meet community needs through a larger capacity to serve the organization/community and through improved volunteer management systems.

Outputs:
80% of site supervisors and Members attend training on Volunteer Management Best Practices and organizational development.

An increased number of volunteers and volunteer hours have been contributed to the host agency.

Intermediate Outcome:
We anticipate 90% of Host Sites improve their volunteer recruitment and retention systems during each funding term, as measured by a survey of the sites volunteer recruitment and management systems based on the “Essential Practices in Volunteer Management” which is found in the Maine Commission’s document Developing Capacity in Maine’s Volunteer Sector. (Copies of this document can be requested by calling Joely Ross)

End Outcome:
There will be an increased capacity of the host site agency to meet community needs through increased programming, community education and volunteerism. This will be measured by documenting the increased number of programs within the organization and the increase number of clients or community members served.

Member Professional Development
Goal:
The AmeriCorps member will have gained skills that would enhance their ability to move forward professionally as a result of their service.

Output:
90% of AmeriCorps members will attend (so many) events on volunteerism, professional development and host site based trainings through their year as members.

Intermediate Outcomes:
Halfway through the member service year the members will have gained the knowledge and skills to successfully complete their service year.

End Outcomes:
The AmeriCorps member will have gained skills that would allow them to effectively pursue their post AmeriCorps goals.
